When the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) set out to reimagine environmental advocacy across Asia and the Pacific, they came to BaseCreate with a challenge that had never been attempted before. Something entirely new — a living, thinking brand entity capable of connecting with audiences across cultures, generations, and borders on the most urgent issue of our time.

Turning climate urgency into human connection.

The Pacific Islands stand on the frontline of the climate crisis. Rising sea levels, shifting ecosystems, and eroding coastlines are not distant policy concerns here but a daily reality. Yet for all the urgency, climate communication too often gets lost in abstract data and detached narratives that fail to move people to act.

UNDP needed a transformative approach. One that could bridge technology and empathy, science and culture, global goals and local voices. The question at the heart of the project was simple: how do you make sustainability feel personal, immediate, and hopeful again?

Building a brand entity, not just a character.

AI brand ambassador Una was not designed to be a digital gimmick. From the very beginning, BaseCreate approached her as a full brand creation, with a distinct personality, a considered visual identity, a clear voice, and a purpose-driven narrative at her core.

Her personality is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and intelligence. She listens, learns, and evolves. Visually, she was crafted to feel both globally relatable and deeply human, a figure defined not by geography but by purpose. Every design decision, from her aesthetic to her tone of voice, was made to ensure she could carry the weight of the UNDP's mission while remaining warm, credible, and emotionally engaging.

A New Visual Identity

Creating the AI Avatar Una

Designing Una required a process unlike any traditional brand creation. Working across AI avatar development, 3D animation, persona and traits definition, and intelligent chatbot integration, BaseCreate created Una as a multi-dimensional character capable of genuine interaction.

Her visual identity draws on warmth and approachability while projecting authority and credibility. Multiple expressions, environments, and contexts were developed to give Una the range to show up authentically across every platform and format she would inhabit.

One character. Many worlds.

Una's story was never meant to live in one place. BaseCreate developed an immersive narrative ecosystem spanning digital, live events, and social platforms, with Una at the centre of all of it.

From long-form documentary storytelling to short-form social content, from live interactive engagements to an intelligent chatbot audiences could speak with directly, every touchpoint was designed to deepen the connection between Una and the people she was created to inspire. The result was a campaign architecture that moved as fluidly as the issues she was advocating for.
