The Peninsula Boutique has been a symbol of refined Hong Kong living since 1928, renowned for its artisanal confections and gourmet gifts rooted in decades of culinary heritage. For this Chinese New Year collection, BaseCreate brought the spirit of the season to life through a gift box that carries meaning in its very form.
In Chinese culture, the octagonal shape represents balance, harmony, and flowing prosperity, and it is this symbolism that anchors the entire design. At its centre, a galloping horse rendered in bold graphic strokes captures the energy and optimism of the new year, framed by bursting fireworks and auspicious clouds picked out in gold foil against a rich crimson ground. The gift box design blended The Peninsula's signature sense of occasion with a confident, contemporary edge.
